DISPATCH MANANGER
We are seeking and experienced Manager who will be responsible for overseeing and managing the daily operations of the Dispatch department. This role involves coordinating and optimizing the transportation and delivery of goods, ensuring timely and efficient service, and leading a team of dispatchers and drivers. The Dispatch Manager will also be responsible for maintaining communication with customers, handling inquiries and complaints, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise Dispatch Operations: Manage and oversee the daily activities of the dispatch team, ensuring efficient scheduling and routing of drivers.
- Optimize Transportation: Develop and implement strategies to improve transportation efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service quality.
- Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and mentor dispatchers and drivers, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Customer Service: Handle customer inquiries and complaints promptly and professionally, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Compliance: Ensure all transportation activities comply with company policies, safety regulations, and legal requirements.
- Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with drivers, dispatchers, and other departments to ensure seamless operations.
- Technology Utilization: Utilize dispatch software and other technology tools to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.
- Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on dispatch operations, performance metrics, and improvement initiatives to senior management.
- Ability: Optimize processes by developing, refining, and implementing SOPs and KPIs.
- Accountability: Ensure the team consistently follows SOPs and KPIs, provide necessary training, and develop a training plan to document results.
- Cross train & fill in: Be familiar with all other positions in the Dispatch Department to assist as needed.
- Strong work ethic: Have the commitment to the success of the department and business.
- Responsible for rating and bidding lanes.
- Build and cultivate business relationships with current and new customers to expand load volume and revenue.
- On-call: Be available and responsive, as needed, during workdays, weekends & holidays.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in dispatch management or a similar role within the logistics or transportation industry, preferred.
- Leadership Skills: Proven experience in leading and managing a team, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and develop strategies to improve efficiency and performance.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with dispatch software and transportation management systems (TMS).
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Customer-Focused: Dedicated to providing excellent customer service and handling customer issues with tact and professionalism.
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and handle stress in a fast-paced environment.

Working Conditions:
- Hours: Full-time 45 + hour work week with the possibility of extended hours based on operational needs.
- Environment: Office setting with occasional travel to customer locations as needed.
Physical Requirements / Work Environment:
- Ability to sit and / or stand for 8-10 consecutive hours per day
- Ability to walk, talk and hear, use finger and hand dexterity, bend, stoop, kneel, climb and crouch.
- Ability to lift up to 15 lbs.
- Ability to travel when needed.
- Ability to adapt to a flexible schedule as needed to ensure continuous operations.

Job Type: Full-time - Salary position
Salary:
- $70k-$90k annual base, depending on experience, education or a combination of both.
